The bond states that if Antonio defaults on the loan, Shylock is entitled to a pound of flesh. Bassanio successfully woos Portia. Venezia and Cyprus connections

The period of Venetian rule in Cyprus (1489-1570) – a time when Nicosia was the administrative centre of the island – is considered very important, as it shaped local social, economic and cultural life, and determined the European character of the island. This short period has left also a rich linguistic heritage.

Cantar le uove- what does it mean?

In the period of Lent, when Easter is approaching, in the southern Langhe (Piemonte), especially in the Roero and Monferrato area, in the area now a UNESCO heritage site, there was an ancient custom among young farmers: to go and “sing the eggs ”- that is to go to the richest farms in the week before Easter and ask for eggs as a gift, singing and playing.
Colomba di Pasqua also in our Limassol

Colomba pasquale or Colomba di Pasqua (“Easter Dove” in English) is an Italian traditional Easter bread. The dough for the colomba is made in a similar manner to panettone, with flour, eggs, sugar, natural yeast and butter. The dough is then fashioned into a dove shape (colomba in Italian) and finally is topped with pearl sugar and almonds before being baked. Some manufacturers produce other versions including a popular bread topped with chocolate, or pistacchio spread like the once done by Fiasconaro, that you can find at Phiale Wines & Foods!
